Civil Ceremonies

The nine areas currently licensed for Civil Marriages are:

Inside Locations (Fire Officer's Limit)

1. Entrance Hall (maximum 15 guests)
2. Red Dining Room (maximum 20 guests)
3. Winterhalter Conservatory (maximum 20 guests)
4. Old Laundry (maximum 46 guests)
5. Garden Room (maximum 80 guests)
6. Stone Barn (maximum 150 guests)

Outside Locations (unlimited numbers)

1. Entrance Porch
2. Rose Arbour
3. Swedish Summerhouse

Civil Ceremony Hire covers a 3 hour period to include use of the ceremony location and grounds. For legal reasons hire time must commence 1 hour before the Ceremony.

Barn Hire

Hire of the Barn includes use of the Old Laundry and the Garden Room, all the grounds, the bride's "day" room and toilets including wheelchair access with baby-changing facility. The Barn can seat up to 100 guests or up to 150 for an evening reception.

Hire of Grounds for a Marquee

Hire of Grounds for a Marquee is exclusively for the day of the event itself and includes use of: the Old Laundry and the Garden Room, all the grounds, the bride's "day" room and toilets including wheelchair access with baby-changing table.

Mini Marquee: Single 10' wide x 30' section of clear-span marquee erected on the Terrace adjoining the Garden Room

Capri or Clear-span Marquee: Capri marquees may be erected on either of two lawn areas: behind the house, seating up to 50 guests, or the main lawn to the front of the house, seating up to 150 guests. Clear-span Marquees may be erected on the lawn behind the house seating up to 120 guests, the main lawn to the front of the house seating up to 150+ guests. Clear-span marquees with raised wooden flooring may be erected on the tennis court seating up 200 or adjoining the barn seating up to 150

NB the above numbers may be increased should additional guests be invited to an evening reception.

Grounds hire includes a day either side of the event for the marquee to be erected/ taken down. Any extra days may be hired will be charged additionally at £300.00 per day. It is the client's responsibility to book and pay for the marquee and to check and advise on erection and dismantling. Grounds hire does not include the cost of the marquee.

Small Receptions and Private Parties

Small Reception Hire includes use of: the Garden Room & Old Laundry, the bride's "day" room, all the grounds and toilets inc. wheelchair access with baby changing table.

Garden Room Seating Capacity:

• Up to 24 guests at one large ‘banquet’ table or three x 5’ round tables (8 per table)
• Up to 33 guests around three x 5’ round tables (8 per table) & one top
  ‘banquet’ table (seats 9).
• Up to 48 guests at eight x 6’ banquet tables (6 per table).

The Garden Room & Old Laundry accommodates up to 80 guests for a drinks reception.

For outside caterers requiring food preparation/ kitchen areas those in the main house may be hired for £400.

Prices correct as of 10th January 2009 and are subject to change. All prices include use of gentlemen and ladies’ lavatories plus one wheelchair-access lavatory with baby-changing facilities. If guest numbers exceed 120, mobile toilets may be required. Bookings are confirmed on receipt of the Security Bond.
